Work interferes with my life.

I realized last night that I've set myself up for a span of nine days without a day off. Possibly not my brightest move, but hopefully I'll make it through.

Meanwhile, in my two days off (today & tomorrow), I need to do a zillion things, including finding some boxes & packing them up. geralyn has very sweetly offered to move some boxes down to Philly with her stuff next weekend! Yay!

So. As some of you know, I'm coming up to a fairly major crossroads in my life. When I was at reunion, I was invited to submit my resume for a job there at SR, as was gregortroll (I've not done so yet, but will this weekend). Getting the job(s) would mean a move from Brooklyn to Great Barrington, MA; a huge change of lifestyle for me. I'd have to put most of my stuff in storage (likely in Philly, at Steanne's), as I'd be living on campus in a shared tiny apartment.

Further, I've decided that if I don't get the job, I'll move to Philly & rent a room from Steanne in her lovely old big house (hence the movement of boxes mentioned above). If that's the way it ends up, I'm making plans to take a month or two (or more) off before diving back into the work world. I expect that in that time I'll settle in, get some writing done and possibly temp for awhile. Or, if I happen to end up getting an offer from the network group where I currently work, commuting/telecommuting until I make other plans.

Either way, I've got a lot to do this summer in preparation, and I'm not really looking forward to it (the work, I mean). I've been having a bout of depression lately (as mentioned in other posts) that makes even the smallest tasks seem daunting. I'm hoping that the promise of a significant relief of stress at the end of the tunnel will keep me motivated.
