A week or so ago, I was compelled to buy from Trader Joe's a largish bottle of olive oil. It's a very pretty bottle, simple and curved and clear (they're calling it an anfora), and the olives are Sicilian, plucked from the Mount Etna region. Being a sucker for pretty things (especially useful pretty things) and volcanos...well, you can tell that I pretty much had to.

The olive oil itself is a bit more bitter than I usually like (which only makes sense, now that I think about it: I suspect that Mount Etna has steadily become more active over the past couple of years), so...alternate use time!! Last night after my bath, I decided to give myself a quick rubdown & toweling with it.

My skin this morning is marvelous. Supersoft & glowy. Tell me, have spas thought of offering olive oil rubdowns yet, or is it my own special brand of pampering still?

Meanwhile, ACK! It's supposed to be in the low 80's today! Bah!
